Dayride Check List
This is a check list with suggested items to wear and bring on a Dayride in Yellowstone National Park. It is not uncommon to be riding in 70 degree F weather one minute and sitting out a hail storm the next. Nothing is worse than being cold, wet and uncomfortable. Here are some suggestions to help you enjoy your adventure. We provide saddlebags to carry gear and your coats are lashed to your saddle.
* Riding or hiking boots with heel* Hat with Brim for sun protection
* Rain jacket and pants (No ponchos please!)
* Warm jacket
* Gloves
* Insect repellent
* Sunscreen and lip balm
* Sunglasses
* Binoculars,spotting scope
* Camera, film
* Toilet paper in ziplock bag (never hurts)
* Pepper spray (optional)
* Helmet for kids 14 and under
We provide lunch and bottled water, if there is an additional food or drink item you wish to carry, feel free to do so.

Lunch Note:
Lunch consists of a hearty sandwich, home baked cookies, trail mix,carrot sticks and a drink.Sandwiches are made on whole grain breads and include meat,cheese,mustard,mayo,sprouts. If you are allergic to anything (nuts, dairy) or are a vegetarian, please let us know and we’ll make a lunch to suit your needs.(pb&j is always an option too.)

Pack Trip Check List
These items are what you will wear, or carry in your duffel and saddle bags for a six day pack trip. There is a 20 pound limit for the duffel bag, this includes your sleeping bag, but not your Thermarest pad. We provide both the duffel and saddlebags.
Duffel Bag* camp shoes/light hiking (canvas sneakers)
* water proofed hiking or riding boots (wear these)
* waterproof overshoes or Totes
* sleeping bag (+5 to 0 degrees F rating)
* inflatable open cell sleeping pad-full body length (Thermarest type)
* two (2) long sleeved shirt
* two (2) short sleeved shirts
* one (1) heavy sweater or down vest
* one (1) change of pants
* five(5) pairs of socks/underwear
* one (1) set thermal underwear (not cotton)
* bathing suit
* towel and toiletries
* personal flasks and goodies (NO BREAKABLE BOTTLES)
* reading, writing or drawing material
Saddle Bags
* camera, batteries, film
* hat with sun protecting brim
* gloves
* insect repellent
* sunscreen/chap stick
* sunglasses
* jack knife (FIREARMS STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN YNP)
* pepper spray (optional but recommended)
* Binoculars
* flashlight, extra batteries
* toiletries that are breakable (in zip lock bag)
* moist towelettes
* lunch (provided)
* water bottle (optional * Personal Water Filter, Straw or Bottle Top Type)

* winter jacket
* rain pants and rain jacket or long,riding “Dusters”, NO PONCHOS!
